Jesus Christ spoke some very sad and solemn words during his earthy ministry to those refusing to believe Him. Among some of those words were these words: John 5:40, “And you will not come to me, that you might have life.” These words were spoken to people who professed to believe and read the scriptures, the Scribes & Pharisees.

They, like many today, read without understanding and realizing that the scriptures pointed to Jesus Christ. They refused and rejected Christ. They rejected God’s Son as their Saviour. This great refusal means facing God’s wrath and judgment. John 3:36, “He that believes on the Son has everlasting Life, and he that believes not the Son, shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on them.”

God invites you to recieve Christ into your life as Saviour Today. Today is the day of salvation. Now is the accepted time. Isaiah 55:6 “Seek you the Lord while He may be found, call you upon Him while He is near.” Refusal leads to eternal separation from the presences of God, 2 Thess. 1:8-9.

Say Yes to God in your Spirit, Soul, and Mind. Recieve Christ’s work for your Sin. Today, Now is the time. “While it is said today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts as in the provocation,” Hebrews 3:15. God says now is the time to accept the work of Christ concerning the day of salvation. “Behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation,” 2 Corinthians 6:2.

Note in John 5:40, He said that they will not come – meaning they did not want to come. They were unwilling to come. Their rejection of Jesus Christ was not due to their inability but to their unwillingness to come. They simply desired not to submit their will to the Lord.

A young official in China faced the call of Christ one night but He said “Tomorrow wait until tomorrow. He refused that night – later he was assassinated. In the Bible the rich young ruler refused and is never mentioned again.

God is still asking today if any one hears his voice to come to his Son. All God is asking is that anyone who hears should come to Him so that He might give them eternal life. Anyone refusing Jesus Christ is in unbelief. Unbelief is a unwillingness to believe and trust God’s work through Christ.

John 16:8-9, says God will reprove sin, righteousness, and judgment because they believe not on me(Christ). So Now is the time to decide, what have you done with Christ? Today is the Day of Salvation, what is your decision? Recieve or refuse Christ. He is waiting on your answer today now.
