If I came in one morning wearing a shirt, pants, and a coat that was three and
four times my size. What would you say? The first thing you will say is those
clothes don’t fit him. It is the same way when we as Christians behave the wrong
way and do the wrong things.

As a Christian lying, stealing, living immorally, hating, and coveting does not
fit who we are suppose to be. Any Sin we do now that we are saved, does not fit
us. The question you should ask yourself is if I am saved why am I behaving the
wrong way?

Well first remember that God is responsible for your life now that he has saved
you. God has purchased you with his life. 1 Corinthians 6:20; 7:23, “You are bought with a price…” If God has purchased you then that means you belong to Him.

God’s desire is that you let him live through you. Let Him have your life through
the Holy Spirit. In Romans 8:5 says, “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” Who are you seeking after?

The actions you do are the demonstration of the clothing of your heart. If you
want to know what kind of heart you have then take note of what you say and do?
Matthews 12:34 says, “For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

Colossians 3:12-14 instructs us to wear clothes of righteousness. It tells us to put on and wear tender mercy, kindness, humbleness, meekness, longsuffering
which is patience, forbearance, forgiving and love.

But if we are not Christians these are the clothes lost people regularly wear. They wear anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication, lying, covetousness
and evil desires. These are some of the clothing we have been instructed not to wear.

The scriptures tells us to put off these things. Stop wearing these sinful actions
and start wearing God’s clothing. To show malice or to be covetous is to show the wrong clothing if we are Christians.

Many times we as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ display the wrong clothes.
Paul told us to put off such clothes. And put on Christ’s righteousness. When
we put our efforts mixed with Christ’s completed work, we neutralize it and wear
the wrong clothes.

Lying does not fit us. Hating does not fit us. Stealing does not fit us. Using drugs does not fit us. Lusting does not fit us. Killing someone does not fit us. Talking about people does not fit us. All these actions are the wrong clothing and does not fit who we are in Christ.

Psalms 109:17,18,19 –

“As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him; as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. As he clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water and like oil into his bones. Let it be unto Him as the garment which covers him and for a girdle where with he is girded continually.”

God says if you choose to do wrong then you will wear the wrong clothes. It is like getting ready to run in a 12 kilometer race wearing heavy military boots, some long heavy pants, and a thick long sleeve shirt and a overcoat with a inner lining. All these items are clearly the wrong clothes to be wearing.

If you expect to win in a 12 Kilometer race you need running shoes, shorts, and a tank top shirt. Hebrews 12:1 says “Let us lay aside every weight and the Sin which does so easily beset us and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.”
Ephesians says put on the whole armor of God everything from our heads to our toes. We should be dressed to do right.

A man rose from his seat in a crowded bus so a lady standing nearby could sit down. She was so surprised she fainted. When she was revived and sat down, she
said, “Thanks.” Then the man fainted. When we do good things others should not be surprised. Doing good and responding right should be our regular clothing. And no one should be surprised.

God says He wants to cover you with His clothing. From the very beginning God provided a way to cloth us of our sin. Genesis 3:21, God made coats of skins, and clothed them.

Wearing spiritual clothes is a necessary item to show that you are blessed. You must wear some kind of clothes. Clothes of righeousness or clothes of Sin. Clothes
of how you behave reveal a lot about your inner character. The question is Are You Wearing the right Clothes?
