The bible teaches a basic truth that all will come to agree with for all eternity. They will agree willingly or unwillingly but they will agree. That truth is that there is only two ways to go in eternity, heaven or hell.
Matthew 7:13,14 – “Enter in at the narrow gate; for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be who go in that way; Because narrow is the gate and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Every one will live forever because God has designed each person that way. So if you think that it is all over once you die, you have been deceived. It is not all over when you die. It really is just beginning to start for all eternity.
Many people think that there are many ways to get to heaven. Many think their good deeds and actions are the way. Many think being religious is the way. Many think joining an organization such as a club or charity is the way.
The Bible says that Jesus is the only true way to heaven, (St. John 14:6). Yes there is only two ways as described by the Lord a narrow and a broad way. Heaven and hell are the only two choices. Which way are you destined to go?
The Bible says that few will find it. Are you among those few that it is describing? Are you sure for yourself which way that you are headed for? Gate in the Matthew text is referring to which way or direction. Broad and wide verses narrow and tight.
God is saying to you, “Please enter the direction that is narrow. The direction that is hard will lead to eternal life.” What hard direction is he referring to? It is trusting Christ instead of trusting your way. It is trusting the work that he has done on the cross when He died for your sin.
It not easy to trust some one else, that’s why it is described as hard. Not your will but God’s will be done for you. God provides all that is necessary to complete the work on placing you in His sinless kingdom now and forever.
Remember that if you refuse the hard and narrow offer God is making to you, then you will automatically have chosen the broad way. Which is very easy. The easy direction to hell is not difficult because all you have to do is nothing. Just trust what your doing and how you think things should be.
Reminds me of the two husbands that were talking about their marriages. Athough happily married, both confessed to an occasional argument.Then one said to the other, “I’ve made one great discovery. I now know how to always have the last word.”
“Really!” said the other, “How did you manage that?” “It is simple, replied the first man. “My last word is always, ‘Yes, Dear.'”
Rejecting God and picking your own way is not wise. Keep choosing your way spells WRATH.
- Your Work.
- Your Religion.
- Your Ability.
- Your Thinking.
- Your Heart.
If you keep choosing your work, your religion, your ability, your thinking, and your heart against God’s Son then you have selected His wrath. The choose is yours? Which way are you going to go? The narrow way or the broad way? There are only two ways.
