Have you ever thought about the conclusion or end result of a matter? Have you considered the end result of things? Have you considered what will happen at the end of your Life? Hebrews 9:27, says, “It is appointed unto Man to die once, but after that the judgment.”
That means there is a final conclusion to everything a person does. There is no reincarnated lives with many deaths. Gods word says a person lives only one life. It says that dying occurs once followed by the conclusion of it all with God’s judgment.
The Daily Bread wrote a beautiful illustration of not considering the end result. A self pace study course wrote an ad in the paper that said,
“If you bought our course, ‘How to Fly in Six Easy Lessons’; we apologize.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our failure to not include the last chapter, ‘How to Land Your Plane Safely’. Send us your name and address and we will send you the last chapter posthaste.”
Now a pilot taking off in a plane without knowing how to land it is unimaginable. But more foolish things than this have happened in our society. Some people are flying through life with out thinking about where they will land which is their final days and death.
What will happen to them immediately after they die has never been considered? No matter what our age we need to be thinking about the end of life now. Ecclesiates 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter,…”
Most people respond by saying, “I don’t think about things until they happen, what will happen will happen.” If you think this way then you are the very individual this article is referring to. You are not thinking ahead.
The problem with this kind of thinking is that it is to limited. It is tied directly with the present here and now alone. It shows that the person thinking this way is very carnal or even lost.
Instead of thinking of the immediate here and now, there need to be thoughts toward the distant things before they occur. Instead of thinking seconds, we need to think seasons. Instead of thinking moments, we should be thinking months. Instead of thinking days, we should be thinking decades.
If you have never trusted Christ as your Saviour, then you can not possible think from a eternal perspective. No matter what your age is, you need to consider what will happen to you at the end of your life?
Everyone must live in such a way knowing there is a end to this life. They must think about their future. Like Linda and Jack talking. Linda asked, “Do you really love me, or do you just think you do? Jack answers, “Honey, I really love you. I haven’t done any thinking yet.”
Think? What lies in your future? What is the conclusion to your life? Have you did any thinking yet? Delaying your eternal destiny is like eating a poisoned mushroom. You can’t tell if it’s the real thing until it’s too late.
Think about the consequences of your denial and rejection of Christ Jesus and his work on the cross? Most people don’t even think about tomorrow, no less eternity. If you have, you should consider yourself blessed, because most people don’t.
Be sure that when your flight through life is over, that you know that you will land safely. Consider the consequences for not accepting God’s only provision which is through Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and ressurrection on the cross.
When you trust Christ Jesus as your Saviour then your thinking will change from temporal to timeless, from minutes to millenniums. Your thinking changes from here to heaven. Therefore your behavior should change.
Paul tells us to be kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving one another even as Christ has forgiven us, (Ephesians 4:32). When we let Christ’s life flow through our life we will be doing the following things.
- Being Kind
- Being Tenderhearted
- Being Forgiving
Taken from Ephesians 4:32. Why will we be doing these things? Because Christ has forgiven us we will display these qualities to others.
By living this way we show that we understand and know what Christ has done for us. Living to let Christ show these attributes prove that we understand the conclusion of life with God in mind. We know how to land the plane. We see the conclusion of the end.
Think about the conclusion of your life, are you prepared for the end? If not you may be flying your life with out having the last chapter of “How to land the plane.” It’s good to know the conclusion, the end.
