If I where to come to you and ask you if you wanted to please God? You probably would answer by saying, yes. The bible says that Jesus Christ always does the things that please God the Father. St. John 8:29, “And He who sent is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I(Christ) always do those things that please Him(The Father).”
The only guarantee any one will have in pleasing God the Father is through Jesus Christ the Son. If you have never realize that, well now you know. If you want to be victorious over Satan and your enemies, trust Christ.
“When a person’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him,” Proverbs 16:7. Knowing that God is for you and not against you, creates peace in your heart.
The world offers pleasures that appear to be satisfying but in the end will not. The mirage of the world has lured many to ruin by presenting false pictures of trees and water in the desert. Pleasures of the world have cheated many to a false happiness that can never please.
The first step to having confidence in living to please God is Faith. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him(God), for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
The second step to having the ability to please God is obedience. St. John 14:15,21 Jesus says, “If you love me, keep my commandments. …..He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me and he that loves me shall be loved of my father and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
Thirdly, we must trust Christ. 1 Timothy 4:10” …Because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.” Trusting God our Saviour is the best thing we can learn to do.
Pleasing God begans with:
- Faith in Christ.
- Obedience in Christ.
- Trust in Christ.
But pleasing God can only come through being born-again. If you are not born again then faith, obedience, and trust will not happen because you are not in Christ. In means you have trusted the work on the cross that Christ did for you.
Are you living to please God? Consider the fact that no one can please God the Father but Jesus Christ. And therefore the only way to please God is through Christ. Why? Because He always does the things that please God the Father.
Being in Christ is a guaranteed way of pleasing God. Reminds me of shopping for plants in a garden center, I asked an employee whether the store offered any kind of guarantee if the plants didn’t survive.
“Oh, yes,” the clerk responded, “It’s printed on the back of our receipts.” Satisfied, I completed my purchase and left. It wasn’t until I got home that I actually read the receipt. It stated: “We guarantee our plants to grow or die trying.”
And that is the way it is with pleasing God. There is only a guarantee when you are in Christ. Are you pleasing God?
