Recently I read about a pastor who decided to visit some people in his church. He just showed up at their home one day and said, "Hello. I’d like to have a little visit with you guys." They invited him in and he sat down.

The mother, of course wanting to put her best foot forward, said to her little daughter, "Honey, please run and get the good book that we all love so much, and bring it here. The little daughter ran off and came back with the book under her arm and right there in front of the pastor she handed her the Sears Catalog.

In Matthews 24: 32 through Matthews 25:13 there are illustrations of the Lord returning, with us not expecting Him. It is very important to live our lives expecting the Lord to return any moment. When we don’t then we set ourselves up for one big unexpected surprise.

Do you realize that it is impossible for us to be neutral in our response toward Jesus’ return? We will either be found being ready or not ready which one are you? If we believe that Christ is going to return then we need to live as if he will come at any time.

Do you realize that it is impossible for us to be neutral in our attitudes toward Christ? If we have heard about Him then we must either accept or reject Him. How we live daily is a demonstration of what we say we believe.

It is not easy to stop trusting ourselves and rely on Christ. In this world we hear messages of what we can do by our ability. We hear what we can accomplish, we hear what we can make, and what we can achieve. We must stop trusting our ability, and trust Christ’s ability.

We must wait on Him and be found only doing what he alone can do through us. Obeying God is not always easy, but when God shows us what He wants us to do we should do it. When He shows us what to do in certain situations, we need to do it based only on His Word.

When we obey God then we are exercising faith in God’s ability to do what He has promised. That is when it is called Faith. Hebrews eleven tells us about people that had this kind of faith. It’s believing Christ and doing what he asks regardless of what we see and feel.

You have been told by God, to be also ready. Being ready are the instructions given to believers in Matt.24:44 ; Mark 13;35-37; Luke 12:40. Be ready for the Lords return is what the scriptures tell us as Christians to do. Matthew 25:13 says, "Watch, therefore for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man comes."

Verse 44 says, "Therefore be you also ready for in such an hour as you think not the Son of Man comes." We are told to be ready. Are you ready for the Lords return? We have also been commanded to watch. Verse 42 says, "Watch therefore for you know not what hour your Lord does comes.

Sometimes things can take us by surprise. Are you ready for a surprise visit by Christ? Sometimes things can take us by surprise like the waitress and Grandpa. Before the waitress could open her mouth. Grandpa announced, "I’m Bob, and I’ll be your customer for the next hour!"

Sometimes things can take us by surprise like the waitress. Surprise is what many of us will be, if Christ were to knock on the door of our life right now. Would you be prepared for the Lord’s surprise visit? Are you living expecting Him at any day, now? Watch out you might get a Surprise visit by God?
