God is watching how you handle your money and resources. Mark 12:41-43, Jesus sat and watched what the people were putting in the offering. Many people were putting in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put two small coins, which amounted to a cent. Jesus said she put in more then all the others.
God gives financial resources not so you can store away wealth for yourself, but so you can give to others. When you give let it be the result of God’s leading. Money can be a blessing or it can be a burden. The way you use your money indicates your faith and trust in God.
Are you a giver? Or do you take? Do you give or grab? Everyone will be one or the
other. Everything you own has the potential to bless you or burden you. What does money
reveal, about you? How are you handling it and what is it doing to you?
- Giver
- Grabber (Taker)
Money can be a blessing or it can be a big burden. No matter, how much you have God can threaten your resources or your peace of mind concerning your finances. Wealth and everything belongs to God so be aware He is watching. No matter how much you have God can take it away or give us more.
Giving opens God’s door of faith. Faith opens His door to blessing us. Blessing is what everyone wants and seeks from God. Giving is an indication of the level of your faith.
We give to God’s work as He asks us to do. This gets us involved in what God is doing, now in His kingdom work.
Giving is a sign of trust and faith in God’s ability to provide for our needs. Giving demonstrates choosing things God’s way.
In Matthews 22:20-21, Jesus raises a coin and asks, “Whose is this image and
inscription?” They say unto Him Ceasar’s. Then He said to them, Render therefore unto Ceasar the things which are Ceasar’s and unto God the things that are God’s.” We need to give to God what He is due.
So remember giving is an indication of the level of your faith. We should want to give to God’s work. Jesus said it is more blessed to give than to receive, (Acts 20:35). The blessings are going to the givers not to the receivers. How are you going to get blessed?
If this article is a blessing to you then please write and give whatever you can. Call or write us to let us know at the address given at the end of this article. Ask God to guide you in your financial giving. But please send us nothing, if you are not already supporting your local church.
I believe you should support your local church first. When you give, God will supply more as you keep on giving to His work. Ask God to bless your finances so that you can bless His work, then you will always have resources.
God owns it all so who do you think He is going to send more resources to? Answer, He is going to send more resources to those that are supporting His work. God sends less support to those that are using their resources for selfish reasons.
Talking about money just recently a man’s Visa credit card was stolen…. The man was heard saying, “Right now my credit card (Visa) is everywhere I want to be.”
Are you helping make disciples with your resources? You are either a giver or a taker. Which one are you? Are you a giver or a taker?
