If I asked you what was important to you, what would you say? Is money most important to you? Is what you own more important? Is your social position more important? Are your achievements and accomplishments more important?
How about sex? What about drugs or alcohol? What about time for God or is it for yourself? Just think are these things all important to you? What is most important to you?
God is watching and is observing what we are doing? Is it important to God? The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back one day if death does not take us first, “Are you living expecting His return?”
A teacher had to leave her classroom for a few minutes, and told her students to do their assignments and behave. While gone out the room some of the class threw pencils and erasers. Others talked and others threw balls of paper at one another.
Yet there were some students that where doing their work assignments. Suddenly the teacher stepped into the room and found some obeying and some dis-obeying. The students that were doing their work were happy, but the students that were not was surprised and caught.
The teacher asked for the class to turn in their work, which revealed
who was working and who was not. Everyone that was talking and
throwing pencils & erasers & paper balls had nothing to turn in to the teacher.
Each student did and acted on what they felt was important at the time. How about you, “Is it important?”
Are you doing what is important to God? Remember he is coming back, “how will you be found?” A principal to apply:
- First, is this important to God?
- Second, is this a sin or going to lead to a sin
against God? - Third, what is the consequence of this behavior if I continue?
Three points to apply is first ask yourself is it important to God? Is this item or issue viewed as God deems as an Important? Does God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit supporting these actions or things?
Second, are these items or actions a Sin or going to lead to a Sin against God? Ask yourself is this going to be against God? If it is, then I need not do it and view it as not important to keep doing. Every Sin that is done is directly against God and should not be important to do.
Thirdly, ask yourself if I continue in this action, what will be the consequence? What will happen if you keep doing what you are doing? Don’t you think that what you are doing is not important. It is not as important as you have made it to be.
Every person must recognize that they are sinful and fall short of God’s holy standard. The only way to be right with God is accept Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection for your sin. Do you view this as important? Then trust Christ’s work!
Everyone must notice for themselves that they fall short, like this couple. A husband discusses his wife,” My husband snores too much!” The husband says, “but I’ve finally figured out the problems. It only happens on nights when she drinks too much coffee.”
Remember to always ask yourself, “What does God think about my actions? Is it against our Holy God? What is the consequence if it continues? Never forget to ask yourself, Is it important to God?”
