Are you sure where you will go when you die? Are you really sure? Well if not then there is no accident you are reading this article. God is reaching out to you, listen to Him. He has made the provision for you, if you would only believe what Christ did on the cross.
God paid the price for sin through Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Do you believe it was for your sins? Do you simply believe the bible’s report about Christ’s work for yourself? The bible says believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, (Acts 16:31).
Anyone that claims to be Christian but does not know where they will go when they die has been deceived or taught wrong. As a Christian, you can know for sure where your destination will be after this life.
Not to be sure is like the little girl that was on her first trip to Disneyland. She could not wait to get on one of Disney’s Wild Ride. As the car zoomed through crazy rooms, into the path of a speeding train and through walls that fell away at the last second, she clutched at the little steering wheel in front of her.
When the ride was over, she said to her mother a little shakily, "Next time, you drive. I did not know where I was going." The question is do you know where you are going?
If you have not trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, then assurance is not yours.
Jesus bought our soul with His death, and He offers us Salvation that is free and paid for, (Romans 5:15). You can’t earn it, no matter what you do, (Ephesians 2:8,9). All anyone can do is reach out to Jesus by repenting of our sin and receiving His free gift of eternal life.
Only believe is all that He wants us to do. Belief with God means that you trust and obey what Christ tells you to do. Are you trusting Him? When you trust Him, then you will know where your destination will be after this life. Not hoping or guessing that you will, but you will know for sure.
We as believers should be able to know when something is going on like the father and son going for a drive. The son invited his father to ride with him in his new GTO sport car. After buckling up their seat belts the son took off fast spinning the tires and burning rubber.
The smoke rises from the tires and the GTO zooms down the street like lightning. The son asked the father, "Can you smell it." The father responds, "Smell it, Yea I’m sitting in it." Do you know what is going on?
When I ask a person if they would go to heaven? Most people respond with the following list of responses of why they think they are going to heaven.
- I’m a good person
- I go to church.
- I read my Bible.
- I treat others right. (Golden Rule)
- I give to charities and the Church.
- I don’t do wrong.
- I have a good heart.
- I am not a murderer or thief or criminal.
- I have joined a church.
- My parents went to Church.
- I prayed and God answered. (healing/ money/ health)
If God were going to let some one into heaven because of their good works, how much work would they have to do? How much work would God accept as right? Would what you did be equal to what someone else did? How much?
Think about it? Would it be fair to have multiple standards? There would be only one perfect standard and that is the work of Christ Jesus on the Cross for Sin. St. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life no one comes to the Father but through Me." Stop assuming, and know where you are going?
God has created only one way to Himself and that is through Jesus Christ. He the redeemer for who ever believes in His atoning work for Sin. If you are not certain of your eternal destination, then you need to become sure?
Certainty can only come through God’s provision of Christ. Anyone working to go to heaven will end in a surprise disappointment for eternity. Are you trusting Christ? Are you sure? Do you know where you are going after death?
