Giving is a blessing, Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” (Acts 20:35). Jesus also said if you give, you will receive; your gift will return to you in full measure, pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, and running over. Whatever measure you use in giving, large or small, it will be used to measure what is given back to you.

Read Luke 6:38 to see how you give and how it comes back to you. If you give you will recieve and if you do not give you will not recieve. Give a little you get a little in return. Give a lot you receive a lot back.

We should give because God wants us to. We should never give just to get something in return. We should give only as an act of love.

Maybe the problem with giving comes from a problem of understanding ownership. God is the owner and we are the stewards (managers). Stewards are only allowed to manage the owner’s possessions. Ultimately, wrong giving results from wrong understanding of God’s ownership. Perhaps we don’t understand because we have not given ourself to God.

In order to give properly to God you must belong to God. You must be Saved. If you’re not saved then your giving does not have full effect. We must first give ourselves to Him. How? We must believe and receive His Son for our Sin because He is the free gift given to us, John 3:16. When it comes to offerings on Sunday, God wants us in the offering plate not just our money.

When we give ourselves to Christ then He can use us to bless others and do His work. The more we give to others the more God’s generosity can flow through us. We will be like pipes. God will generously provide all we need then we will always have everything we need and plenty left over to share with others, (2 Corinthians 9:8). God has given gifts to each of us so that we can minister to others. We manage what we have and give so that God’s grace and goodness can flow one to another, (1 Peter 4:10).

You are never more like God then when you are giving. When it comes to giving, give your best of everything you can. Your money, your time, your abilities, your patience, your personality, your material things, and your life. GIVE your savior Jesus Christ . Give your best. What are you giving? Read 1 Peter 4:10 and Luke 6:38.
