You only believe the part of the Bible that you do. No matter what anybody might say they believe, they only do what they really believe. The action that is done reveals, a persons beliefs. James 1:22-25 tells us to be doers of the word not just hearers only.

What I have come to learn about myself is that I only do what I really believe. I found out that regardless of what I say I only do those things that I really believe. If you are honest with yourself you are the same way.

We all do what we truly believe no matter what we might say. The Bible says, “He
that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches…
(Rev.1: 7,
11, 17, 29; 3: 6, 13, 22). Listen and apply, is the principle God wants us to grasp.

The bible says that if we would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior we shall be saved (Romans 10:9). Well have you done it? Are you, trusting Christ and His work? Well if you are not then perhaps you don’t believe Him. To not believe God is a sin.

Obeying God is the best thing to do. Our Lord used a metaphor of building two houses (Matthews 7:21-29). The house that is built on sand is the person that does not believe God’s Word. They are the person who hears His words but does not put them into practice.

The floods came and the winds blew on that house, Jesus said, “it fell and great was it’s fall.” Simply hearing what Jesus says is not enough. Hearing and not doing is foolish.

Matthews 7: 26, “Everyone who hears these sayings of mine, and does not do them will be like a foolish person who built his house on the sand.”

If I come to you and tell you that there is a big lion in your back yard, and you
proceed to go into your back yard. Then it is obvious by your actions that you did not believe what I told you about the lion.

That seems to be our problem when it comes to reading and applying the Bible. We hear, but don’t apply. We often don’t take the information given to us by God and practice what He has said to us. We fail to take the truth off the pages of God’s word and put them down into our life.

If we would only notice what we do most of the time, then we would realize that’s what we really believe. Note your daily actions and habits then you will know what you really believe in your heart.

Do you have a problem applying what you read from the Bible? Ask God to help you understand and obey it with all your heart and desire (Psalm 119:34). It is God’s Will that we should read and do His word. God wants us to do what we say we believe.

If we do what God tells us to do, then we would be like the person that built his house on a rock foundation. The rains and floods came. The winds blew and slammed against the house yet it did not fall. Why, because it was founded upon the rock?

That Rock foundation is Jesus Christ. Have you placed your trust in Him for your
eternal destiny? The storms are the problems in life that everyone will experience. The rain water is a symbol of the Holy Spirit using everything in your life to reveal your inner personality.

The rains descended (Down) , the winds blew (Sides) , and the floods rose (Up) . Everything in life was allowed by God to reveal what that individual was relying on. If they are not relying on the rock of Christ, then that house is going to fall. What is the condition of your house?

God is going to reveal what each persons life is resting on. Jesus said that each one
will do what their father is leading them to do. If their father is God, they will be
found obeying Christ. If their father is the devil, they will be found obeying Satan.(St. John 8:41,44)

Like the parent-teacher conference, where the teacher seemed flustered when she started telling the mother about her daughter. “Your daughter does not always pay attention in class and is sometimes flippy,” said the teacher.

“For example, she’ll do the wrong page in the workbook, and I’ve even found her
sitting at the wrong desk.” The parent said, “I don’t understand where she could
have gotten that?”

The teacher still reassured the parent that her daughter was doing fine in school and is sweet and likable. Finally after a pause the teacher asked, “By the way, our
appointment was tomorrow.”

Just like the child did what the parent did by example, so do we. We will do with our actions, who we are following. If we believe God, we will be obeying Christ. If we don’t believe God, we will be obeying Satan. You will do what you believe.
