I have a question? Who lifted up Christ Jesus from the dead? Answer is God the father. So now if God The Father lifted Christ from the dead, why are we trying to lift Him up by our strengths?
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me.” The scriptures tells us that if we lift up Christ from our earthly situation, then God will draw all people to Christ. I have discovered that it is not my power and ability that achieves anything, its only God’s power and ability.
Now imagine if you were going to physically lift some one up, how high would you get them? Probably no higher then your Shoulders, depending on their weight. Reaching them to heaven would be impossible. The only way to lift anyone to heaven is through God’s help.
Three ways to Lift:
- Physical Lift (Human effort maybe 5 to 6 feet high)
- Mental Lift (Human effort by Reasoning & Education)
- Spiritual Lift (God raises us in Righteousness)
Just think if you were going to mentally lift some one up in their thinking, how high would you get them? Probably not very high because they must first desire to change. They may desire to let you lift them, but you probably would not change them no higher then worldly feelings and emotions.
The best and only way to lift anyone is through a spiritual lift. Allowing God to pick them up with his power to a heavenly level that no human can do. Letting God’s righteous power do what we are completely unable to do. Stop trying and trust.
By faith trust God through his word. Stop trying by your effort and trust His work that was done on the cross. It’s His power source that made it all work. He is the one that we should be plugged into like an appliance.
If we are plugged into human reasoning or human efforts there will be no power. It is only achieved through God’s power. It is His lifting power alone. Philippians 3:10,11 – “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of his suffering,… I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.”
I often say at work near the end of a work day, “If you don’t think the dead can be raised to life, you need to be here at quitting time.” God can raise us up just like he raised up his Son Jesus Christ. The problem is do we trust Him.
The first thing everyone must do is, be raised spiritually. If you have not agreed with God about your sinfulness and your sin nature, then you cannot get started with His spiritual lifting power in you. Jesus said, “You must be born again.”
Once you get saved then God has access to guide your heart to make the necessary changes for his kingdom to come. God will be resurrecting Christ life in you. All that you have to do is let Him by trusting what Christ tells you through His Word.
Someone asked Joseph of Arimathaea, “That was a great tomb. Why did you give it to someone else to be buried in?” “Oh,” said Joseph, “He only needed it for the weekend (a 3 day rental).”
Now consider how you do things, are they by your human efforts or they by God’s powerful strength? Are you lifting it up or is God lifting things up? Remember it is not by people’s effort nor by human education or reason, it is only by Christ resurrecting power.
Be aware it could be, “Too Much Human Lifting.”
