Concerns, importance, & priorities are reflected in our behavior and by our actions. Bad choices that reflect wrong priorities is like the following illustration.
Regis the game show host said, “Mike, you have not missed a answer all week on,
“Who wants to be a Millionaire. You’re one of the best players we’ve ever had on the show.”
“Now you’ve chosen American history as the category of your final question,”
Regis says, “Are you ready?” “Sure,” Mike replied. “Okay, now this is a two part questions and as you know, you may answer either part first. Which part would you like to take a chance at first.”
“Oh, how about the second part,” Mike answered. “Okay, Mike, fair enough,” the host Regis replied. “I’ll ask you the second part of your American history question first. For one million dollars, the question is: And in what year did it happen?”
Sometimes we can out smart ourselves by not taking things in the right order. First thing first and then the next thing in the right order is always the best thing to do. The right precedence reflects priority.
Think about your priorities, What is most important to you? What do you place first in your life? Matthews 6:33, says “But you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.” The Scriptures says that we should desire God’s kingdom first. Godliness should be foremost.
If God came to you right now and said He would answer any request that you asked of Him, what would you ask for?
What would be your greatest concern? What would be of greatest importance? What would be your greatest priority?
- Greatest Concern
- Greatest Importance
- Greatest Priority
Anytime a believer places their physical needs over their spiritual needs then they are acting carnally. That which is physical focus will lead to worry. That which is spiritual focus we lead to faith. Think about your priorities, what are they primarily on?
How bad do you want to do things God’s way? Is Christ the desire of your heart? What are you doing right now that reflect what is important to you? If you are not doing those things that Christ would be please for you to do, then perhaps you have misplaced priorities.
