Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” If God promised to save you and prepare you for heaven why don’t you believe Him? If God has promise to conform you and me into the image of His Son, why don’t you trust Him?
If God has made you a promise from His Word(Scripture), why is it you don’t believe Him? Where is your confidence in what God has said? Do you have any
confidence in God and His promies? Why?
No one is excluded from the opportunity to believe and receive everlasting life. They must believe that Jesus’s death, burial, and ressurrection has the power to cleanse and pardon them of their sin against God. It’s a decision that only you can make.
How come we don’t become perfect people instantly upon accepting Christ? Answer because we haven’t matured spiritually. Consider a new born baby; that has the full capacity to become a unique mature adult. He or she may be little, but yet they have everthing.
All of the genetic code that’s needed for that baby to grow and develop was given to him or her at birth. There is no more genetic code the baby is going to receive or get as it grows.
The baby is going to grow according to the genetic code that is already in place. The baby has all that is necessary to eat, walk, and talk. All that is given has been given so that it can grow and mature into a full grown adult. Well the same is true of born again Christians. God has given every Christian, all the Holy Spirit they will ever need, at the time we receive Jesus Christ as their Savior.
All we need to do is grow up. Grow up to let Christ manifest his traits, qualities, and fruits in our lives as spiritually mature people. Perhaps the reason you are not concern with doing what is right is because of your immaturity. Immature believers are like immature babies, that want everything for selfish reasons.
The main thing is to not quit obeying the Lord. Like the father that went to his son explaining to him the importance of persistence and not quitting. “Whatever you do son, don’t quit,” said the father to the son. “Son have you ever heard of Abraham Lincoln?” ask the father. The son said, “yes”.
“Son have you ever heard of George Washington?” ask the father. “Yes” answers the son. “Son have you heard of Colon Powell?” ask the father.”Yes” the son says. “Son have you ever heard of Robert Stop?” asks the father.”Who?” answers the son. “Robert Stop” says the father. “No, I never heard of him!” says the son. The father responds, “See he quit!”
The holy spirit dwells within believers and He convicts, prompts, leads and inspires us to want to follow our Lord with all of our heart. We should desire to do what is pleasing to God. We should want to live in a daily relationship with God that is not marred by sin.
The Holy Spirit compels us to want more of God’s ways throughout our lives. Our desire should be to do what is right and pleasing to God. How bad do you really
want what is right?
Do you have enough confidence in God to trust Him? He has given you this new birth in Christ, so all you need to do is place your confidence in Him. He will
finish what He has started.
